It’s been a very surprising few weeks on the Nintendo side of things. First, the screens of Red Steel hit the Internet before the magazine that got the exclusive could even hit the streets. Then, the buzz on message boards hit a fever pitch. If that wasn’t enough to get people talking about Nintendo’s next machine, that name change wow gold spawned some of the biggest buzz for gamers online within two hours of the announcement. It was impossible not to have an opinion on the name of the Wii, but now that E3’s upon us and old smoke has settled (and our Non-Disclosure Agreement has expired), it’s time to start talking about Ubi’s shooter. The “remote” has a button underneath it, which will be used for shooting. Standing too close to the TV will cause a warning that players need to step back. Also, holding one’s arm out to aim isn’t really necessary and will eventually cause said arm to cramp up. It looks like one can get into the experience while standing or sitting, just as long as they’re a good enough distance from the TV.It looks like the shooting could be on rails, although the E3 build could be dramatically different from what we saw a few weeks prior to the show. Quite honestly, the trailer being shown on a small TV between the two demo units seemed to show off much more of the final product than what we sampled at Ubisoft. The final version on Wii will have much more polished graphics, and since we were blowing away targets, we don’t know how the physics will work on a newer build. Also, the level did not demonstrate any of the katana abilities that were shown in the trailer.For now, the early taste of Red Steel that we got has us thirsting to see more of not only how the final product will develop, but more of the games that will be available to play on the Wii at Nintendo’s booth at E3.
